Sir James Paul McCartney is an English singer, songwriter, and film producer. He is widely known for being the co-lead vocalist and bassist for the Beatles. He is one of the most successful Musician of all time. He co-wrote some of the most popular songs with John Lennon and also has a very successful career as a single artist.

1. He is an accomplished painter. Not many people know this, but apart from being a great Musician, he is also a great painter. 



2. Guitar isn't the first instrument of Paul McCartney. His father gifted him a Trumpet on his 14th birthday. But he didn't liked it as he couldn't sing while playing it. Afterwards, he traded it for a guitar. 



3. When Paul was a kid, his father, James McCartney, bought a piano for the family and it came from an interesting source. He bought it from a music store owned by Brian Epstein's parents. Brian Epstein later became the band's manager. 



4. Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney attended George Harrison's Madison Square Garden's concert disguised. 



5. He sank into Depression after the Beatles broke up. He told BBC “It was difficult to know what to do after The Beatles. How do you follow that. I was depressed. You would be. You were breaking from your lifelong friends."



6. Paul McCartney saw John Lennon for the last time on April 24, 1976, four years before his death. 



7. The NY Police Department made him an honorary detective in 2002. He received this honor for his emotional tribute to the 9/11 attacks. He even witnessed the 9/11 attacks from the JFK Airport. 



8. He was allowed into France when he and Mal Evans had left to go film Fool on the Hill despite having forgotten his passport. 



9. He sued Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs thrice. In 1977, the Beatles discovered that there was a new tech company named Apple Computer, Inc. Though broken up, the superstars reunited in a 30-year legal battle with Steve Jobs. The Beatles won the lawsuit in 2007 and got paid an undisclosed amount. It was given to Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and to the estates of John Lennon and Ringo Starr. 



10. Paul and Linda were held up at knife point when they were walking around Lagos, Nigeria while there recording the “Band on the Run” album. They might have been in jeopardy, but they were let go after Linda told them it was “Beatle Paul”. But they lost a bag of song lyrics and demo tapes.
