"Bohemian Rhapsody," Queen’s classic "mock opera," was released on October 31, 1975. Though the song was met with skepticism when played for preview audiences, it ended up spending nine weeks at number 1 on the UK charts in 1976. Bohemian Rhapsody has since become Queen's most popular song and is considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

1. Freddie Mercury Claimed that the lyrics of Bohemian Rhapsody are just "random rhyming nonsense". Nobody exactly knows the meaning of this song. 



2. The Famous Music video of this song was shot in just 4 hours. The band were concerned that trying to mime to the song on TV would be awkward, plus they were about to set off on a UK tour that would take them through to Christmas Eve. 



3. Freddie Mercury Started writing the song in 1968, 7 years before it was released in 1975.



4. Elton John thought Bohemian Rhapsody was too Weird for Radio. Prior to it's release Queen manager played a rough mix of the song to one of his other high-profile clients, Elton John, to get his opinion. His verdict: it was too long and too “weird” for radio.



5. EMI Records, the band's label, never wanted to release the song as a single. 



6. Freddie Mercury plays the same piano that Paul McCartney used for ‘Hey Jude’.
